What are Bills?

A Bill is a proposed law under consideration by the Legislative Assembly. Bills implement policies and/or address economic and social issues as they develop.

A proposal is put forward to the Cabinet by the Ministry and/or Portfolio responsible for the subject. Upon presentation to the House the Bill goes through the following procedural stages

  • First Reading
  • Second Reading
  • Committee Stage
  • Report on Bill
  • Third Reading
